    Nothing wrong with starting mild.

    Even if the UC is needed to fix things up, you will want SwirlX or Cleaner/Wax or ColorX in the future for the regular detailing.

    Should not need UC everytime, or something else is wrong.

      Yes, very much so Murr.And Grit Guards are a very important tool to have in your bucket to reduce swirls. Pick some up when you get a chance.
