  • little help please.....

hi, new on here. just a quick question, but i will tel you my senario first. so i got a g220 couple of days ago and tried it out yesterday with #83 and a soft buff polishing pad, good results but it din't remove alot of the defects on my car(its black and you see every little scuff.) so i bought some farcela g3 compound and a megs softbuff cutting pad it worked well and really lightned the scratches so there barley noticable now. then i drove in to the sun and noticed i now have quite bad holograms everywhere, so my question is will the megs #83 and polishing pad remove these or will i need somthing stronger?? All help very much appreciated

You could go ahead and try M83 again. Chances are it will remove the swirls but in case it doesn't I would pick up some Swirlx.

Also, try and pick up some M105 to use as your compound. Most likely, it will leave less swirls and cut faster.

I would try some M80 Speed Glaze and a W8207 pad.

Stepping up to M105 will most likely not solve the problem.

It's also possible you have soft paint. As Tuck suggested, use a polish cleaner such as M80 or M205 and also slow the speed down on your G220 (4 or maybe even 3 on the dial). Make long sweeping passes. In my case, I had to use unidirectional passes along the length of the panel as opposed to cross-hatched passes to eliminate holograms from my paint.

I meant to pick up some M105 and use it instead of the g3 compound.
