Re: best combo to use for wet look
M105 with M205 is a very nice combination but M105 is the most aggressive product Meguiar's has. Depending on the vehicle you are working and the condition on the paint.
Some vehicle are easier to remove defects than other. So giving us the vehicle you are working on will be great so we can point you out in the right direction.

105 then 205 will def get you a nice wet look, but it might be a bit more than you need. Try a test spot of 205 first and then see how you like the test spot. You can also use 205 on a polishing pad followed by 205 on a finishing pad or just straight to the finishing pad if that does the trick.

Re: best combo to use for wet look
The wet look is caused the making the paint finish as level and swirl-free as you can. Which combination of polishes and pads will accomplish this task all depends on the condition of the paint and on your skill level. Nobody can tell you ahead of time what will work best for your car--hence the necessity of first doing a TEST SPOT: How to do a Test Spot.
Personally, I prefer Ultimate Compound with polishing pad over M105. Why? Because it's an easier polish for detailing dolts like me to use--longer buffing time, less dusting. But it may not be strong enough to get the job done on your car. There's only one way to find out ... yep ... you guessed it ... a test spot.
Follow up either M105 or UC with a finishing pad and M205. This will refine the paint surface even further, and will remove any micro-marring 105 or UC may have left. behind. I know you will be delighted with the results.
Then you will need to decide what protectant to apply. A synthetic sealant, like NXT, will give you a very reflective look. A carnauba wax, like Gold Class Carnauba Plus, will give you a somewhat warmer look. There are, of course, a zillion protectants from which to choose. Each of us has his favorites.
But prep is the key. It's the polishing that creates long-lasting gloss, shine, reflectivity, and wetness.

M26, on top of NXT, may give your black are a bit more depth and warmth. I don't think you'll be wasting your time. It certainly will not make the car look worse.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Re: best combo to use for wet look
We recently had a black 2009 CTS as our demo car at a Saturday Class and even the "landing marks" (aka scratches) that a bunch of seagulls had put in the hood came out with Ultimate Compound, a W8207 pad and a G110v2. The owner has been in contact with us several times since that day and is just raving about how his car looks after doing the whole thing with this combination and process. He also recently switched to M26 and, we have to say, he's one incredibly excited man today! He can't stop raving about this overall combination.Michael Stoops
