  • Waxing Frequency Question

Guys I have a 2010 Honda Civic in black color. Usually it is recommended that car be waxed once after 1-2 months but my question is that is it okay if I get my car waxed (with carnauba wax) once every 10 days?

I live in Pakistan where temperatures are quite high nowadays (45C+) and environment is quite dusty. The car gets washed with water daily. I want to increase the waxing frequency because I want to protect paint of my new black car in this harsh environment and secondly because I feel the wax is removed after 2-3 days as I cant feel the slippery feel of wax on the car whether I use my finger, tissue paper or cloth.

Please advise if it is safe and beneficial to wax the car once every 10 days?

    It wont hurt.

    You are washing/waxing yourself?

What are you using to wash? And doing any sort of prep before waxing?

      Re: Waxing Frequency Question

The car is washed daily by my driver using water and cleaned with microfibre cloth. On weekends I take the car to my detailing guy who washed it with high pressure water and car shampoo and then waxes it.

If it's in a really dusty place I would def not use just water and towels to wash the car even if it was daily. Waxing can never really happen too often so wax away! But look into washing correctly with soap and water and the wax might hold up longer and your finish will look better for longer as well.

In your environment, frequent waxing is a must. Especially after your detailers weekend cleaning. By all means wax it more frequently.

I would look into using a soap for your washings. Especially with all that dust.

Possibly look into using Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax soap. That could add a bit more protection to your car.

And just for the reference guys, 45C is about 104-105F!

                Actually 45°C = 113°F! No thanks.
