Effects of Ultimate Compound on Touch Up Paint?

I have some paint chips going on and I wanna get touch up paint. and I'm considerably reliant on Ultimate Compound when it comes to maintaining my car's looks. So I was wondering if Ultimate Compound might do something to the touch up, if I happen to get a scratch on the area and I happen to run over the touch up with uc, is there going to be any significant effects? like the touch up paint coming off or something?

note: I don't have experience with touch up paint so I'm not sure how it really works, but from the looks of it, touch up just goes on top, without a clearcoat.

Touch up paint, for the most part, acts as the paint applied to the car so no negative effects should come from using UC. I would apply more than one layer of touch up paint obviously, and follow the directions on the bottle.

They do sell clear coat and you are more than welcome to touch up that particular area with clear coat, but if it is only paint chips, then it is probably not worth it. I have applied touch up paint to several areas on several different cars and never applied cear coat afterwards.

I got a lot of stone chips and i used touch up paint to fix and not to long ago i used the UC on my hood so far and nothing happened to the touch up paint

As long as you let the touch up paint properly cure as directed by the manufacturer you shouldn't have any problems. Since you're new to touch up paint you may want to visit the paint chip repair section of the forums. There's a lot of good info there and some really neat documentation by Mark Kleis. Good stuff!
