Preparing for the first detail of the season on my 02 X with red metallic paint. What makes a good 2nd coat after NXT 2.0? I use pro line cleaner wax prior to it. I want to make the metallic paint pop and show off the colour. Pics to follow

Re: 2nd coat wax choices?
GC+ is my go to product for an LSP. I recently tried NXT as a base with GC+ as a topper and it leaves a very nice, smooth as glass, dripping wet finish.Tedrow's Detailing

If I read you rightly, you intend to apply a cleaner wax and then follow-up with a coat of NXT. Why not stop right there?Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Will YOU see a difference if you apply a third coat of whatever? There's only one way for you to find out. My guess is that your car will look pretty darn good after the NXT. You might consider doing doing a side-by-side hood comparison to see if you can discern any differences between the NXT and whatever topper wax you have chosen. If you seriously want to make the paint pop, you might want to do more prep than simply Cleaner Wax.

Re: 2nd coat wax choices?
I used to use #16 as my go to wax mostly because it did not contain silicone. Just for the heck of it, I tried applying it over a coat of NXT. I could not tell the difference before/after. This was on a well-prepped black vehicle.
(akimel, I do not "love" to wax my vehicles for any reason. I do it because I am too darn fussy for my own good.)
