  • Detailing, Blonds & TREES

My friend lets me practice detailing her PT Cruiser convertible, but she is forced to leave it parked outside, under trees, etc.
Last summer it was like a major detail every two weeks.

    So, I tried this:

[I am really satisfied with the products, results, and the smile I get from one particular blond ]

    ------------------------------

    Products:
    APC
    ASD
    Megs Super Soap
    ONR
    Megs microfiber mitt
    Megs clay kit
    Megs QD
    M7
    M21
    Ult.Quik Wax
    SS

    DAY ONE:
-APC 10:1 to wheel wells, tires and wheels.
-50/50 Super Soap with Gilmour Foam Gun...valve set for maximum cling.
    After foam dissipated :
    -Wash as Usual with ONR
    -ASD to Wheel wells, tires.

    DAY TWO [FRONT only}
    -Washed with ONR,
    -Clayed
    -Wiped down with QD
    -M7 to hood only
    -M21 to front of vehicle.

    DAY THREE [REAR only]
[Applied Ult. Quik wax to front as a second coat]
    -Washed/cleaned as above.
    -Ult.Quik Wax to vertical surfaces.
    -M21 to horizontal rear bumper.

    DAY FOUR [SIDES only]
[Applied Ult. Quik Wax to Rear as a second coat]
    -Washed/Cleaned as above
    -Ultimate Quick wax.
    -----------------------------------------------
That's it. Each time I give it a wash over the summer, I'll try fully
detailing a different panel, maintaining the rest with sprays, etc.
After that I will fully detail what I missed. I hope.

Just the smile I see on a family member's face when I'm finished makes all of the hard work worth it. Great job taking care of a friend!

You now what they say. Practice makes perfect. Sounds like you have it under control.

Thanks. Not as afraid to make mistakes... paying more attention to the paint and purpose.
