I remember reading an article somewhere that compared a Dual action polisher to a rotary buffer. However, I forget which is the one that a beginner can use and which can burn your paint? If I remember correctly the rotary was the one that can burn the paint.

Re: DA vs rotary
Okay, sorry for raising my thread from the dead but I had another related question. What I am going to do is wash my car with some Meguiars Gold, then clay it, then use the DA on some Pinnacle polishes my neighbor is letting me borrow (I would've used Megs) After that, I come to a problem. With his M21 does it go on like a wax, where I just buff it on with the DA? Or do i need to follow some extra precautions? I have never used a sealant.

Re: DA vs rotary
Use a sealant exactly the same way you use a wax; they do the same thing.
On the D/A you will use a finishing pad and the tool should be set to speed 3. Using light to moderate you then spread just a very thin layer of M21, or any other liquid sealant or wax, onto all the painted surfaces of the car. Now give it 20-30 minutes to dry and then simply wipe off with a clean microfiber towel.
Use the Swipe Test to determine that the product is sufficiently dry before wiping off.Michael Stoops
