  • Spring cleanup

Both of my cars get pretty hammered in the winter time. This is the first Spring I've noticed little rust-colored deposits all over the sides of both of my cars from about just below the level of the door handles and down to the bottom of the car. They are raised deposits, some easily scrape off with my thumb nail during a wash but most don't budge. Does anybody know what this is from? How can I get rid of these marks?

Hard to say just what they are from, but clay is designed for this very thing - above surface bonded contaminants.

I just had the same issue with tons of little yellow/orange specks on my DD and what a pain it was to remove. I used Meguiars mild clay and it worked excellently but with a lot of elbow grease. My advice to you would be to try a slightly more aggressive clay if your spots are hard remove like mine were. Just a heads up so you have your arm! After all was done I finally experienced my "smooth as glass" paint finish.
