  • Help choosing a cleaner/swirl remover/polish

I have read a few dozen threads about polishes, cleaners, swirl removers andI still have a few questions. Whats the difference between M09, M80, 105 and 205? Do they all have polishing oils? Are they all the same except for aggressiveness? Is there a list that could be compiled of all the , glazes, polishes, swirl removers, scratch removers, polishes, in order from weakest to strongest and include a little info of each (...if it contains abrasives to help remove imperfections, if it has polishing oils, if its for machine use only, etc...). There are so many different choices that I'm not sure when to use M09, or M80, or 205....etc...

I used to use 3M Hand Glaze but I found that it doesn't contain anything to help remove a cobweb scratches. Just masks them.

For some reason I can't edit my last post. So I was just going to include... should I just use the M06 cleaner wax for light swirls?

Mmmm... that would be a big difficult list.

Any info on the car, or pics to help?

If you want to work by hand, SwirlX and Ultimate Compound are probably what you want. They are a mild and strong cleaner, so kind of covers the range of what you may need.

The Aggressiveness Order of SMAT Products - This might surprise you! Super Micro Abrasive Technology = SMAT From left to right, the most aggressive to the least aggressive SMAT products From the most to the least aggressive... M105 Ultra-Cut Compound/M95 Speed Cut Compound = The same in abrading power

Aggressiveness Order for New Consumer Products - This will surprise you! (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28407) Since we introduced these 3 new swirl and scratch removers in our Consumer Line and our new M205 Ultra Finishing Polish in our Professional line, many people have asked how aggressive these new

Something like that I suppose... you'll notice SwirlX, #205, and #80 are in the same ball park. #9/#82 would be milder.
