    Hey guys

I have a concern, I don't have pics yet but I am worried. Car inquestion is an 05 Infiniti G35 manufactured 5/05

Just a few days ago I noticed a few spots on the hood, it was not many so I kinda brushed it off, but now today when looked my roof holy damn theirs a lot. They look like bird dropping stains. My car is black and its basically a much lighter black cricles.

I got the car on my 9th of May 2009 and in July did M105/205 and then NXT 2.0, I been applying NXT 2.0 either monthly or when I notice its wearing away.

I just started this last week with NXT 2.0 then Gold Class + Carnuba ontop.

I don't know if this has done something, since it was around the time I started using this product I started noticing the spots (Gold class)

I haven't let bird dropping sit for long and I can count how many times bird droppings have fell on my car since I have owned it, I also always carry Quick Detailer and when ever I did get bird droppings it got wiped off asap. and Sprayed liberally to make sure theirs no Acid left.

I know you guys want pictures, Ill be washing my car tomorrow so Ill get them up when I can, but what can you guys speculate?

    Thanks

I read on a thread the other day.
Wash your car with Dawn dish soap to get rid of all the wax in the paint etc...
After that do a normal detail to your car. The 5 steps.

That should get your paint back as New.

Thats good to always carry a bottle of QD, specially for when those birds attack our cars.

Did you tried some ScratchX on them? Those seems to be bellow surface as far i can see from your swipe. haha

Do the 5 steps cleaning, i sended you the link .Maybe that would help. As also try the ScratchX and put some elbow grease when working with it.

              Re: Spots appeard

Doesnt really look like failure to me, which is hopefully good.

Looks more like you were splashed by something.

As much as I am against Dawn, you could certainly try it if the regular Gold Class, etc doesnt do it. Then yeah, try a paint claner.

I got tons of stuff I can use but I would like to find out best course of action instead of playing paint roulette, Ill do Least invasive first for sure but comments are welcomed.I wonder if someone spilled something on my car as to vandalize it.

Can get splashed by anything driving around.... doesnt have to be on purpose.

                      Re: Spots appeard

The stains (or whatever they are) in the image look to have almost a feathered edge to them, all on the same area - is that a higher point on the panel than the rest of the stain? It looks like something was spilled or otherwise deposited onto the finish and it tried to migrate to the lowest point, hence the feathered edge on the highest point. Assuming, of course, we're seeing the image correctly.

If that's the case, it is not clear coat failure - but that doesn't tell us what it is, and that may not matter. But it certainly isn't from the combination of NXT and Gold Class, or any other wax you could possibly apply to the car. If it were, you'd be seeing this all over the car, not just concentrated on the hood. Do you by any chance park in a parking garage, either at work or at home (apartment/condo complex)? We've seen leaks from the ceilings of these places on numerous occasions, and it's amazing what those leaks can contain!

We would suggest going over the stains with a mild paint cleaner - if you have a D/A then go over them with M205 on a polishing pad and speed 4 or 5 and see if that cleans them up. Hold off on the M105 unless M205 accomplishes nothing after a couple of tries. Without knowing exactly what's in these stains it's hard to say how easily they'll come out so you'll have to do some experimentation.

                        Thanks for the reply.

Ill use dawn soap, since dont have a "paint cleaner" Yea I got a G110 so Ill do the M205 on LC white pad. Hope they come out!

I do park in a public parking garage at school and at home its just a one car garage and theres no leaking there so this prob happend at the parking garage at school then. ( gerr need to find another parking spot lol)

Thanks again when I get home tonight ill work on them.

^ and Yea the image was taken from the side (I was standing next to the door) so it does slope down, as you see in the pictures, great detective work!

#205 is a mild paint cleaner, though you may just want to try applying by hand at first.
