Sorry for the duplicate thread but the other one won't let me delete:
I am the second owner of a black 2005 Nissan Altima and have taken very good care of it ever since I purchased it two years ago. The previous owner however neglected the paint in hot South Florida and it looks to me like the paint (only on the roof and trunk) is experiencing the beginning stages of clear coat failure. It could also be that if I buy ultimate compound, it will do the trick. I took a bunch of pictures, mostly using the Macro settings on my camera so hopefully they will be useful in determining what corrective measures can be done or if I might just need to repaint the car. Also, if I need to re-paint the car black, does it need to be stripped to bare metal, or since it will be black, just paint over? Thanks and here are the pictures, if they don't show up they are also in my albums.

The roof

The roof again with the liner plastic in the middle

Part of the trunk

Not as close but still captures the paint damage

You can see some of the fogginess here

More of the trunk

What are my options here? What do you guys suggest I do?
Thanks
