  • How to remove this?

I was hoping some of you could give me some suggestions on how to remove this? Marks like this are all over the front bumper after being washed and I don’t know what it is exactly.

    Hi!

Some of it looks like bug spatter and some may be rock chips. Have you tried anything besides washing the vehicle? Maybe a clay bar or Meguiars Bug and Tar remover would make a difference and then we can re-evaluate.

Looks to me like it might be etching either from bugs or bird doo. If the bug and tar doesn't do it you can try something a little abrasive like Scratch X or 105 and see if that does it for you.

I'm going to have to agree with that. I asked this same question a few months ago and I found out that the only way to get rid of it is either to wet sand, if you are experienced, or to go get it repainted.

Looks like bug etching. May have to step up the aggressiveness.

I would have to agree on the etching (bug and or bird droppings) after claying a vehicle the paint imperfections really pop out. more aggressive action needed but remember least aggressive to more aggressive.

Depending on the severity of the etching, repainting or wet sanded are not the only way to remove etching. Those would be the appropriate courses of action on situations where other remedies have failed to yield results. In other words, these would be last resort solutions.

Scratch X, UC, and 105 all have the potential to fix the problem with the right technique and a little patience.
