IMO, one of the funnest parts of this whole thing is experimenting yourself. The side-by-side application with tape between them is kind of helpful.

Just have fun with it. The last thing you want to do is make this into a chore where you dread waxing your car!

Well, the Soft Buff 2.0 pads would be meant for machine washing, do better for long term use.

With a cleaner/wax, you could go either way. A polishing pad if you need correction, or a finishing pad for the best fnish.

The #82 would be best used with a polishing pad to get the most cleaning ability out of it.

I did the first wax by hand, the second by using the G110 + black W9207.

Now thinking ahead, I was thinking about getting another W9207..or maybe W9000 to use with the M82 when needed.. like every 5 or 6 months to remove swirls, and i don' t know whick one to get to use with the Meguiars Cleaner Wax.. another W9207, or a W9000.. W8000..

See? same doubt, I am confused =p

Ok, I did it. I now have one more question..

I tried to use the minimum amount of wax as possible, but during the waxing I was a little afraid of creating swirls by the fact as there is not as much product as I was used too before learning how to use a thin layer.

What I mean is, to use less wax has a bigger risk of swirls? I am asking you that because people always tell me to use microfiber to dry the car, to remove wax, etc.. but the sponge itself, isn't it dangerous?

By the way, it was really easy to remove the wax with the suprime shine microfiber tower. xD

We want you to touch the paint as gently as possible to accomplish the task at hand. For really severe defects that may mean a fairly powerful cleaner and a fairly aggressive pad. For light swirls just a light cleaner is called for, but the pad might vary a bit. For wax application you want the softest pad available, which is why on a D/A you use a soft foam finishing pad, and by hand you should be using the supplied foam applicator pad. We recommend microfiber towels over terry cloth because they are a more gentle approach, and you aren't doing any defect correction when simply removing product from the surface, whether that product is a compound, paint cleaner, pure polish or wax.

Applying a wax very lightly won't introduce more swirls, but applying it very heavy might give you issues later. It would not be the application process, but rather the removal process with a heavily applied wax. A heavy application means a more difficult removal of the hazed wax, and we've seen people literally scrubbing the finish trying to remove a heavy application. That scrubbing can and usually will cause some level of marring.

With a regular wax, thin is good.

With cleaner/waxes, you may find yourself using a bit more, since you need to have some there to work into the paint for the cleaning action.

Do you have any #105 there?

Cleaner wax is not going to remove swirls, it will only make them more difficult to see. I think it has polishers in it but these are mainly going to add gloss to paint, not remove swirls.

Dad' s car has lots of swirls and paint contaminations, I posted a thread asking about what to do when there is no claybar to use, but let' s suppose I did have a claybar to use with the quick detailer.. that d' remove the rough touch.. but for the swirls, I know that the M82/M83 d' get the job done (because where I live there is no ultimate compound or swirl x, but.. what about the Megueiars cleaner wax that I asked before, would it also take off swirl marks? (I ask because as far as I know there is micro abrasives in its formula).

It's not the foam applicator or the wax that creates swirls, it's any containments that might be on the paint, such as dirt. The wax does not act as a lubricant so the amount does not matter. As long as the paint is perfectly clean, you should not have swirls. Is it always possible to keep everything perfectly clean? No... but this is why paint correction is needed. MF towels are used as they tend to trap the dirt and not rub it across the paint.

Every time you touch something to the paint you run a risk. The key is to minimize that risk by taking the correct steps with the proper tools.

liquid or paste? i mean, is it ok to apply liquid wax by hand?

Your choice. I think the paste is easier to apply thinly, but the liquid is easier to find locally and it has the advantage of not being able to be contaminated by an accidental drop or particulates from a soiled applicator.

I tried to get a few of meguiars products on ebay, but the shipment + taxes was absurd (50, 70 dollars to ship + 60% of taxes), so I guess I better get used to the limitations =o

Its good. Its stronger than the cleaners in the Nxt wax, though still quite mild. The Cleaner/Wax has some diminishing abrasives, but not a lot. Not sure about the 3M one.

But yeah, ColorX would be nicer.

Is it good? what I dunno is if the 3M cleaner wax I own does have micro-abrasives as well as the Meguiars one.
