A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I use purple power diluted 50/50 with water for tires and wheel wells and a meguiars tire brush and have great results!
Bingo Stang, I do the same here.

Do your tires and wheels last that way you can use the car wash solution.

Spray it on, dunk the brush in bucket, scrub away. Rinse thoroughly then stand back and admire the results...

        ...

Most people do the tires and wheels first. That way any junk that gets sprayed off the tires and wheels and lands on the body panels will just get cleaned during the wash.

...and the water doesn't sit on the paint and dry while you are cleaning the wheels and tires. Especially important when it is very warm out.

Good thinking, as others have suggested, avoiding the wheel and paint is a good idea. Bleche Wite is stout stuff. I've been using it for 40 years or so and you DON'T want to get it on uncoated aluminum wheels unless you enjoy polishing.

On white walls or RWL a light spray and let it set for a few minutes and you'll see the gunk running off. Brush with sudsy wash water (don't use that water on the paint after). I've never had a problem brushing the wheels off with coated wheels. Any protection on 'em is gonna be gone though.

Since the manufacturer discontinued the product I used to use to clean my electrostatic cells on my home HVAC I discovered furnace jobbers use Bleche Wite. I dilute it 50/50 and have found that dilution also works well on tires as well.

I also use Amazing Roll Off and discovered both have a similar smell and look. ARO leaves a nicer finish though, IMO.

Sure, go ahead and make me feel bad after doing it that way all these years. Ya know, I don't like guys like you that inject common sense and reasoning into a thread....

OK.....It does make sense...even to me...

This is what I use to clean my tires and rims, Also I do them first.

I Use the meguiars tire brush and the rim brush, here's my bucket just for my tires and rims it also has it's own grit guard in it.

I just ordered a couple of dirt guards this way I'll have two separate buckets. Doing the wheels first and keeping the more harsh wheel cleaners away from the painted surfaces is important. I have a long handled brush for scrubbing and getting under the wheel wells.
