  • M105 and M205

Hello everyone. I am a long time lurker on the site but first time posting here. My question is about M105 and M205. I just recieved my order from ADS of 32 oz. of M105 and 32 oz. M205. Would this be enough to do a whole car? For example a ford ranger or a BMW? Thanks for any help

YES! It should not take more than 8-10oz to do an average sized car. A little product goes a long way.

You are going to really enjoy this combo. Does a great job. You will be able to do many cars with the 32 oz. sized bottles.

I have seen some great pics of this combo and I love the look it brings out. I cant wait to use it but the weather in SoCal has been brutal. I have heard that BMW paint is really hard. Would this combo still clean the paint up really well?

Good to hear, but yes it will clean up the paint. Do a test spot first and experiment with how much product it takes (I use 4 drops on a 7'' pad) Also apply some pressure and see how the results vary.

I see people saying "4 drops".. but then you watch the Meguiar's videos on YouTube and they put an "X" on the pad and then an 8-10" line on the spot they're working.. which is it??

It depends on your work area. I like to work on sections less than 2'x2' at a time. You'll get the hang of it once you start. Start out with a small amount and increase if you don't think you have enough to work into the clear coat.

Not to derail this thread but in many cases the finish doesn't warrant the use of M105. Please don't misunderstand me, M105 followed up by M205 is a great combination but another Meguiar's product that's seldom discussed and overlooked is the 1 step M86 Solo Cut & Polishing Cream.

                          Defect Removal
                          1. Set rotary speed to 1800-2000 RPM. Choose the Wool Light Cutting Pad or Foam Polishing Pad, depending on the severity of paint imperfections. Mist dry pads with Meguiar’s Final Inspection.
                          2. Apply Meguiar’s Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 directly to the paint and work in a 2 x 2 sq. ft. area and Keep the polisher moving at all times.
                          3. Check work frequently. When the defects are gone, stop polishing and lift the polisher off the paint.
                          4. Buff with a soft, clean Microfiber Detailing Cloth.

                          Final Polishing

                          1. Set rotary to 1400-1800 RPM. Choose the Solo Diamond Foam Polishing Pad or Diamond Foam Finishing Pad. Prime dry pads with Meguiar’s Final Inspection.
                          5. Apply your favorite paint protection, such as Meguiar’s #26 HI-Tech Paste Car Wax or Meguiar’s #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0.

                          Just food for thought
