  • Removing Rubber Tire Marks

I will try and get up some picks tomorrow. But, I can't help asking in advance.

I think a bit chunk of tire tread from a semi truck flew up and slammed into my hood. The hood is scratched up, not that bad, but it is not good. There are black marks, which I am assuming are tire marks, but not totally sure it was a tire.

How should I go about cleaning/ buffing this out

I have a dual action porter cable with some basic pads and 105/205, plus I aslo have swirlx and some other basic stuff.

Is there any compound I should use or other particular technique?

Wash it good, and go with the #105. Might try by hand first with terry to get the rubber off, before using a pad on the machine.

I would try clay before moving onto a compound.
