I voted No. That seems like normal behavior to me.
My brother and I took a whole car apart to paint all the panels, one-by-one in his apartment's bathroom.
This was back in the 70's which should be past the statute of limitations
For the rear fenders (the car was a convertible), we trailered the naked chasis out to a field behind my truck with a pumped up air compressor and sprayed it out there.
Believe it or not, after color sanding the panels in the shower and polishing everything up, we put it all together and it came out beautiful.
Of course this is the brother that has 12 restored antique Indian motorcycles in his Living Room !!
what kinda work did you do on your hood? And i take my doorpanels off on probaly about a 3 month basis to clean and inspect for rust. Mainly ofcourse because the cars 20 years old and rust is part of its life

I had some rust on the leading edge of the hood, so I took it downstairs and hung it from the ceiling nose down so I could get a better angle on it. Too, it was kinda cold outside at the time
