For me "normal" at 35 degrees means a trip to the coin-op followed by QEW. Otherwise warm water in your wash/rinse buckets and move fast.

That *****, I would try to convince them that ONR is awesome.

I love filling my wash bucket with HOT water and doing my car with ONR in the winter. Then again I'm in AZ but it still feels cold to me.

I just used ONR myself... AWESOME!!!!!! After 1 pass, the difference is like night and day on a dirty panel. Since your customer doesnt want to use ONR, maybe you can show how effective ONR is on a test panel elsewhere?

I like ONR but only for straight washes. I much prefer a traditional wash if doing any kind og detailing (ONR does leave a residue and I don't think it removes enough dirt to make polishing safe). I've also washed my vehicle when it's been 30 degrees. Unheated water will freeze on the vehicle is the vehicle has been outside! At that point the vehicle cannot be dried and your rubbing ice crystals on the paint. I'm guessing this person does not want the vehicle washed at the local self serve car wash otherwise they'd do it themselves. I'd recommend some ONR education and the explanation that a traditional wash during freezing temps is not a good idea.

            That's easy.
            ONR wash, you do it.
            Conventional wash, he does it.
Sometimes it's better to just pass up some business rather than put yourself through a miserable experience.
            Ps: 35 degrees is cold.

i never mind doing a regular wash in the cold..the only concern i have is the water freezing on my driveway, thats all.....

i fill my buckets up with nice hot water, throw in some shampoo plus, and dress warm (that includes puttin on your long johns ! lol) but on serious note, somehow i stay warm while im out there washing my car

You can still do a regular with with ONR. Just skip the final rinse.

It's effectively the same thing. If he's worried about washing the dirt off with a presoak then do a pre-soak. Then for the hands-on stuff use ONR.

                  Layer, layer, layer.

And no one says you can't take a break here or there to warm up your hands and feet.
