Last Saturday I went to the spray it yourself car wash place and rinsed the salt from last week's snow off of my vehicle. After I got home and got the twins to take a nap I did a two bucket wash with ONR. Since the girls were really enjoying their nap I thought I'd try to put some wax on. My garage is unheated (for now) so I put some NXT 2.0 on a small spot on the trunk lid and let it sit for a half hour. Tried to remove, still not set enough. Gave it about another half hour and no real change. I used some Quik Detailer and removed the failed wax attempt. I then got out UQW, primed a microfiber applicator and tried the other side of the trunk lid. After about two minutes I wiped it off and smiled!
Yippee!!
Winter waxing is possible. I did the rest of the car and called it a day. Sunday afternoon I put on another coat. FYI: Garage temperature both days was about 45 F and it was very damp.
Of course Monday AM I awoke to a heavy misty fog. Oh well it looked good and that wax beads like nobody's business.
When spraying with the high pressure hose at the car wash I kept the hose behind me and never got the sprayer closer than about 3 1/2 feet from the car, using the "rinse" setting. While waiting in line I watched a guy with a brand new red Camry (still had temp plates) go to town on his car with the dreaded brush.
Sorry no pics, my bad.
