  • Where can I get the gold class foam pads

Hi! I'd like to know where can I get the foam pads that usually come in the box with Megs Gold class Wax (yellow ones) or NXT tech wax (purple ones). I have 4 of them and even with past of time (2 years) still work great. Are they the x3070?

I don't like the foam pads in the W0004 packs, recently I got two packs and from what I can observe and touch they are not the same in terms of softness and actually I'm really disappointed with those cause they scratched the paint in my Honda Accord and my Mitsubishi Eclipse (I know these cars have soft paints) after that I did a test CD and didn't pass (I should have done it before touch the paint but I didn't). Since then I only use those pads for tires, wheels or trim detailing. The foam pads that come with gold class and nxt waxes are really soft, don't scratch anything and I want to buy a bunch.

    Thanks guys

It's not these pads that are harming your finish; rather the contaminants between the pad and your paint. The surface and also the pads must be totally clean before using.

Like RGP mentioned, you have to have a clean surface... are you working on a properly clean surface? are these pads totally clean?

        Hi!, thanks for your answers
And well, my surfaces were clean, in fact I had just finished polishing with my g110 and menzerna po85 with w9207 pad and I was going to seal with m21 by hand with those foam pads.

Don't you notice they feel a bit different?, the pads in my w0004 packets are rough even raspy if I touch them with my fingers they even "sound" louder than the nxt purple foam for example. I don't want name other brands but those nxt purple foam pads or those in gold class liquid wax boxes feel like lc red hand pads in terms of softness, don't get wrong I like hte most of meguiars products (talking about pads they are cheaper than LCs), but the w0004 pads didn't satisfied me.

i think i know what you are talking about... do they feel firm and sort of stiff when you first use those new pads? I had that experience, but they were fine after the first use. You might want to try to wash the new pad and see if that helps soften it up.

That's interesting, I've never had a problem with any of Meg's pads. Is there a difference in the Soft Buff 2.0 and the regular GC applicator pads?
