  • So how was your weekend??

    Hey guys!

So Saturday morning I'm on my way to work. It's drizzling, dark, and my windows are all fogged up. No big deal until light catches something strange on my passenger window. So for 10 miles every time I drive under a street/highway light I look over at the window and I'm baffled as to what it is. I was thinking "Man did I do that bad of a job on cleaning the windows that the moisture would turn the streak marks into a funky shape"??

    AHEM....NO....

I get to my station and I get out of the car, walk around to the passenger side and in a nano second my jaw drops, blood pressure skyrockets into the stratosphere and my vision turns red....err....white. White spray paint that is. It seems as I caught up on my much valued sleep, one of the fine natives of Lancaster City determined that my black Focus needed to be white and proceeded to spray paint the passenger door and the rear door. There was a good amount of fresh paint on the door, and doing 85 mph on the highway blew overspray all the back to the rear of the car. The rear door wasn't as bad off as the passenger door...but bad enough.

That night I was able to get the majority of the more concentrated paint areas off of the passenger door and window using a laminated card which inflicted a whole mess load of swirls!
Yesterday afternoon I washed the car, clayed the affected areas with Megs blue clay, followed up with UC via G110 (1 pass) and a yellow pad, finishing off with M26 on the finishing pad.
All the paint/overspray along with my self inflicted swirls are now gone leaving a very nice mirror finish......problem is that the trim is still white, I've tried scrubbing it with simple green, M39, pressure washing it and scratching at it with my finger tips. Abit it's not as bad as it was it's still there.

So my question is, is there anything that I can do to safely remove the remainder of the pain on my trim? I took enough risks yesterday and thankfully it didn't bite me in the rear!

    Thanks everyone!

I grabbed some pictures on my phone but unfortunately I'm at work and the phone's home!

I don't really know, but I would look at APC+ or maybe even Body Solvent? Might want to check if the Body Solvent can be used for trim.

Maybe a local body shop could help you out?

I think in one of Rasky's recent posts (Cadillac CTS-V) he used a 3M chemical to remove some yellow road paint from one of his customers cars. Not sure if he was removing it from metal or plastic though.

        Thanks Mister B and Colonel!

I don't have the time to be able to take her into the body shop. I think on payday I might have to take a trip to Lowes on my way home and pick some of that stuff up.

don't wait to long. The longer you wait the harder it will be to remove.

This product will take it off as well.
