Hello Everyone,
I am just starting to get into detailing. I have a project car, a 1990 Mazda Miata. The car has been repainted several times before i bought it and some panels dont seem to even have any clear coat on them. I could pay someone an arm and a leg to have the car professionally polished and detailed, but i decided to take try to do it myself.
So my question is what is the bast way to go about getting rid of some fine scratches and swirl marks. Here are pictures of my car with the said scratches , my polisher and few products i have been using.

Here how the car looks from 20 feet away. I wish it looked like that from 5 feet away.

I have a a yellow meguiars pad and a very soft white pad that came with the polisher.
So far i tried to use the medium cut cleaner with the yellow pad. It seems like it works a little bit but not as much as i thought it would. It does nothing to the deeper scratches but does take off some oxidization.
I am thinking that i either need a stronger cut cleaner or a denser pad.
