  • Cleaner/Wax Dry Time?

How long is Cleaner/Wax supposed to dry for before removing?

I applied it to sections of my car and let each section dry for about 15-20 but I felt that it was quite hard to remove. I haven't used a non-Mequiars product for a long time though, so I might be expecting too much.

20 Minutes should be enough for cleaner wax. Do a finger swipe test, where you swipe your finger across the wax, and if you look at the paint, if it swiped clean, and there is no smearing, it is good to go, but if there is, then wait a little.

Chances are you applied the product way too heavy and that is why it was so hard to remove. You should apply it as thin as possible, applying heavier doesn't add extra protection, it just makes it a pain in the butt to take off and wastes product.

    Hope this helps

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

I agree it sounds like you applied it to thick. Your wait time for it to dry sounds right. I have not had a problem removing the cleaner wax in the past.
