LSP alcaline degreasing safe ??

Hi

Does Meguiar have any LSP last step protection that doesnt come of with alcaline degreasing?

I know there are several LSP out there on the market claiming AD safety and long lasting protection?

Is Meguiars all in to vaxes ?

I live in Sweden so in the wintertime its kinda tought climate here and road dirt is uggly and toxic.. so i need to use AD for cleaning my car mot the times, but then the vax is removed right?

Nxt 2.0 is the longest lasting....

But anything strong and degreasing would likely remove it.

We're curious as to which LSPs are marketed as being resistant to an alkaline degreaser. Such products can be very potent and remove even heavy grease, which means they'll strip wax as well. Even synthetic sealants such as NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 and M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 are going to have a tough time standing up to these powerful cleaners. Yes, they'll do better than a carnauba product which will basically be gone with a single application of an alkaline degreaser, but will they hold up to repeated assaults? No.

These LSP products are generally designed primarily for UV protection and not a barrier against this sort of very harsh chemical. Having said that, if road salt is used regularly in your area, this sort of alkaline degreaser does a great job of removing the salt, and that is a very, very good thing indeed. If you had a choice between A) no wax on the surface but the ability to remove the salt quickly and effectively versus B) a coat of wax but with salt that is allowed to remain on the surface for an extended period, you're better off choosing A). UV exposure during the winter months, especially as far north as you are, is minimal. The potential damage from road salt, on the other hand, is huge.
