  • Which applicator?

I have three applicator pads, two are microfiber evencoat pads and the other is the regular foam pad that comes with the nxt wax. I need to get three things accomplished and I'm not sure which one should use the regular foam pad. I need to clean leather, wax, and polish (swirlx). I was thinking the best thing to do is clean leather with an evencoat microfiber pad, wax with an evencoat pad, and polish with a regular foam pad. I may be mistaken, so what do you guys think?

Also, I have the day off tomorrow but I don't have my car wash yet. Do you guys think I should do it tomorrow with some dish soap or hold off until god knows when?

Your pad selection sounds like the right way to go; the fibers of the Even Coat pad will help with the leather cleaning, the foam pad will be used with the only really aggressive step in your plan so using it with SwirlX won't cause any possible marring of the surface, and using an Even Coat pad to lightly spread your wax is just fine.

But whether you should use dish soap to wash your car or hold off for an undetermined time period is sort of up to you. We aren't big fans of doing so but in a pinch, on rare occasions, it won't hurt anything. What's the issue with getting a hold of some dedicated car wash soap by tomorrow? Wal-Mart, Target, Advance, AutoZone, PepBoys, etc etc all carry our products and our competitors as well. In fact, we are so NOT fans of using dish soap to wash a car that we'd rather see you use one of our competitors car wash soaps than a dish detergent.

I appreciate the response so I'll definitely look around for some at kmart, which is the only store of that type around here.

Kmart has Megs Gold Class car wash and it's around $9. IMHO, a much better bet then washing with dish soap.

Yeah, you are going to want more foam applicatos, and a lot more good car wahs soap.

Buying a big jug of Gold Class costs no more than dish soap.

              +1 for the extra applicators
It's a real pain when you accidentally drop a pad to the floor and you just found out it was your last clean one (yeah, personal experience ) same goes for MF towels.

You might as well go and get the jug of Gold Class now. You are going to need it anyways. I personally have never been a big fan of using dish soap to wash a vehicle with.

You can always pick up some cheap cotton applicator pads for leather cleaning and conditioning, if you do not have access to the Meguiar's foam applicators. I find that leather conditioner goes on best with cotton applicator. It just glides smoothly. Foam and microfiber seem to drag slightly on leather.

You could use microfiber applicator for SwirlX, but it may drag slightly on the paint. The best applicator for use with SwirlX is probably the foam pad, because foam glides very smoothly on the paint. But microfiber applicator works well too if you do not mind the sticky feeling.
