So I had my BLACK 06 Cadillac STS repainted on both sides due to a wreck and I wasn't too happy with the work done by the body shop. I'm a car enthusiest and I've had a bunch of cars so I'm really picky. To be honest they did a really bad job when they did the final clear coat (dry spots, orange peel, runs, sags, and very dull) so I just took my car and left.
Well, to check on how bad it was, I decided to wet sand the whole car down in 1500 grit then 2000 grit to get all the flaws out. I then used a wool pad and rubbing compound and my buffer to buff out the scratches and try to bring it to a shine. Looks great in the garage but when I pulled it out into the sun there were buff swirls from hell. I figured it was probably from the rubbing compound and the wool pad. I went and bought some of the Swirl X remover stuff and applied by hand and it looks better but still a lot of swirls. My question is what should I do next?
I plan on going back over the car with the Swirl X stuff but this time with a foam finishing pad on my buffer. Then polishing and waxing with the foam pad and buffer.
