  • First Detail I Have Questions

Ok, I just did my first detail yesterday. Sorry for no pics. But I'm new to this DA G110, so I primed my pads. I was using M80. But my only confusion was when I was buffing the product starting dusting up. So does that mean I was buffing to long or what. I dont know when to stop buffing as crazy as it sounds. I tried some UC on my wifes car and came up with the same results. Is it something I'm doing wrong? Also I was working a small spot (I think) well I measured since the pads were 7" I was doing like 20 by 20 test spot.

That's not too crazy. How long were you buffing? What kinds of paint issues were you working on? Some simple swirls? Water spots? Or some more serious blemishes? In order for you to get a feel for how long to buff, try the UC and buff for a little bit and then wipe it off with a microfiber and inspect. Do this several times and you'll get the feel. This is easier with Meguiar's new products: ScratchX 2.0, Ultimate Compound, and SwirlX because they do not have diminishing abrasives; you don't have to work them in for a specific amount of time before wiping off.

I was working the product in for like 2 or 3 minutes a time doing the up down left right movements.
