  • First attempt at detailing with PC - Pics

98 Grand Prix GTP Daytona Pace Car - Medium Gulf Blue
    09 G8 GT - Liquid Red

I used the same process for both vehicles. I don't have before pics, but the GTP was swirled REAL bad. The g8 was swirled decently too. Im gonna say the GTP was swirled because it was possibly neglected. The G8 was swirled because of improper care, and I think, cleaning it too much, and improperly.

I did the same process on both cars.

    1) Palmolive 2 times on Microfiber Mit
    2) Clay with mothers clay + Meguiars Detailer
    3) Ultimate Compound + LC Orange Pad, PC on speed 5
    4) M7 on black pad, PC on speed 4
    5) NXT on yellow jewelers pad, speed 3.

The grand prix came out great, the g8..could be better. It's my first time so I am not that worried about it. Heres the grand prix.

Heres a closeup, cant really see any swirls in the pics, but there are still some present, really small compared to what it had.

The G8 still has some swirls and ramdom waterspots/scratches in it. Heres the pics of that.

What should I try next to get all the swirls out. Since I already did a coat of 7 and NXT, do I have to remove all the wax/polish if I want to try UC again and then re-wax. Any other opinions would be appreciated as well!

    Thanks in advance

You need to resize your pictures, as they are too big, and maybe a mod can move to the the right section. But nice job.

Yes, pics need to be resized. They are way too big. They are making my browser very slow, as well. The cars look pretty good though, from what I can see.

Good job! You should try Easy Thumbnail. Here is the thread.

I think Ultimate Compound is strong enough for this job.

Problem is, you already applied #7 and NXT, so it is up to you if you want to use UC again, then reapply the NXT. (since it will remove the wax)

Uc should do the trick. But then its another complete detail.

                The cars look very good.
