Detailing Background

Hey guys:

I'm going to be doing a 2-3minute informative speech for my speech class. I'd like to do it on detailing. I'm still up in the air on the main points of the speech but I'm thinking something like: A) Washing B) Swirls C) Protection or something like that.

Do you guys know of any good webpages on the history of detailing or other interesting facts/topics? Thanks.

Barnes and Noble sells a book about detailing. It's a little dated, but could be a good source for you.

You'll need to work Meguiar's products in there aswell. Go easy though,use tactics or they'll think you're a sales rep.

Man I had a project of writing a manual on something of my choice, of course I chose detailing. It had to be atleast 30 pages long. So I thought of as much that had to do with detailing as I could. Different techniques, tools, pads, polishes, waxes, glaze, washing, soaps, mitts, towels, etc. eventually I did it only on paint correction itself and more than doubled the needed pages.

All I can say is make sure you organize what you want to say well so you dont start to ramble and use terms and things that they wouldnt understand. Also, you could probably break it up a little into different catagories for different things if you need to stretch it. But it will definitely be easy to go over the time limit talking about something you are constantly learning more about
