  • Newbie help

I have just purchased a new Toyota Tacoma in dark grey. I was previously using Meguiars products on my last vehicle 2000 4-Runner but not for awhile. I have the following Meguiars products:

    Gold class car wash
    Gold class vinyl/rubber protectant
    Hot shine spray
    Quik detailer
    Quik wax
    M7 Show car glaze
    M9 Swirl remover 2.0
    M26 Liquid
    SwirlX
    NXT2.0

I also have MF towels, terry cloth towels, some glass cleaner without ammonia (cant remember the name brand), wheel cleaner, chamois, mitt with high nap.

First question...anything else that I need something that I am missing?

I need to use the #7 then the #26...correct? Any need for the NXT? Also since it is a new car I should not have to use the #9 or swirlx yet...correct?

I want to keep this thing as pristine as I can.

I had bought a cheap polisher...not sure if it DA or rotary or what (have not used it forever). Should I use this, do it by hand or buy a nice DA?

    Thanks in advance guys.

I would look into the Smooth Surface Clay kit, 2 buckets for car washing, and the Nxt Glass Cleaner. Possibly ColorX also, since it ca nsave you some time when looking for a quick detail.

Nxt 2.0 is great stuff, it would be my choice for a wax.

I want to keep this thing as pristine as I can.
Here are two details I would recomend:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Clean/Polish - SwirlX
    4. Wax - Nxt 2.0
    5. Wax -Nxt 2.0

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. ColorX
    4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

Then after future washes, you can use something like your Quick Wax, or the Ultimate Quick Wax or Ultimate Quick Detailer to get back thatfresh waxed shine.

I had bought a cheap polisher...not sure if it DA or rotary or what (have not used it forever). Should I use this, do it by hand or buy a nice DA?
Well, you dont want to use a rotary.

As far as a cheap DA, it probably wont do a lot other than spread the products around, which is ok for waxes. Might want to do the cleaning by hand though.

You can keep the truck looking good by hand, but you would be looking into a G110, or Flex polisher if you wanted a good DA.
