  • Quick question about Soft Wash Gel

OK so I've seen some of the vids that Mike Phillips has produced with regards to car washing - specifically that he adds his Gold Class Shampoo to his bucket AFTER it's full of water already.

With the Megs Soft Wash Gel, does the same system work best?
Am I better off mixing the product into the water, or mixing the water into the product??

I will end up using the Megs Gold Class myself, but first I have 1.5 bottles of Soft Wash Gel and a bottle of Mothers California Gold wash to get through first!!!

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave.

Gold Class Shampoo is the best wash in my opinion. But yes, The proper method is to fill your bucket(s) with water then add in the proper amount of Solution, then stir with your mitt.

    I recommend:

2 Five Gallon Home Depot Buckets
    2 Grit Guards
    2 Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitts
    Meguiars's Gold Class Shampoo

I only ask as I tried doing it myself, but the gel sat at the bottom (heavier than water) until I agitated it, and then it didn't seem like it mixed in properly with the water.......

Maybe you want to add water, then some soap, then more water. Just do whatever it takes.

Soft Gel is a very good shampoo aswell. I think the way you add to water is the same for the rest.

Dave, the reason for adding water first, then whatever wash you're using is fairly simple. If you put the wash in first, then add water, you'll usually end up overflowing the bucket with suds and only have a couple inches of water in the bottom of the bucket. If you fill your bucket first with water, you'll have a precise amount before adding your wash. Just agitate with your washing instrument of choice or shoot a jet of water in the bucket to mix it.

If you fill your bucket with just the hose at low pressure and no spray nozzle, you'd probably be fine putting soap first, then water. However, most use a spray nozzle and this is where you'll end up with problems.

I prefer Gold Class shampoo and NXT shampoo...

but i have had problems with the GC, it seems to dry out a bit faster than the NXT... could maybe be because of the warm weather and the humidity I am experiencing in Indonesia.. :]
