And who carries what can tend to be fairly regional too. Unfortunately, we can not dictate to these stores what they can and can't carry.
Just out of curiosity... are most Meguiar's products on consignment or being purchased by a regional distributor?

I would assume giant retailers such as Walmart does not utilize consignment practices...

While never on a consignment basis, there are a few distribution channels. For the most part, each major retailer has their own distribution network and local retail outlets will draw from that network. Whether the parent company dictates that each store carries the exact same SKU mix or not will determine if all stores inventory the same items. Wal-Mart, for example, will stock virtually identical SKU counts nationwide although inventory levels may vary (for the record, Wal-Mart currently carries more SKUs than anyone else on the retail side).

Other chains like AutoZone, Advance, PepBoys, etc tend to have more freedom to select SKUs based on what sells in their geographic region. So while certain SKUs may be available to them, they may not stock them all, which explains why a store in Oregon carries tons of NXT line products but the same chain in Orlando carries almost no NXT line products. In cases of franchise owned stores, all bets are off. Those owners have may have a variety of distribution channels available to them - a central warehouse of the franchisor, or a large regional distributor. Sometimes these stores are more amenable to special ordering things for a customer as well. NAPA stores tend to be pretty good about this, but again, that doesn't mean they all will happily special order a product for you.
