This is just my opinion about glass cleaners. I drive a school bus for a living...yea, I must be crazy. I have tried all the glass cleaners in the world...TWICE, YES TWO TIMES, on my bus to find a good one. I have twelve large windons on the passenger side and, yes, twelve on the drivers side and two large windows in the front and one large window in the back. I am on the ultimate quest for a good glass cleaner. I didn't think it would be that high of a mountain to climb. Oh, foolish one, me. They all clean fairly well instantly, that is not the problem. The problem is that they all dirty up very quickly. That includes Invisable Window that isn't so invisable after the first 24 hours. All the brands attract dust and cleaning streaks show up after just 24 hours.
I have just now ordered Meguair's NXT Glass Cleaner on-line. It is the last best hope of mankind for long lasting clean glass. I just hope that the glass cleaners don't come out of the same factory with different labels and that Meguairs is actually something different and better. Of course, that is a lot to expect. I guess hope springs eternal.

Have you tried the detailer line glass cleaner??, if not, seek some out and you won't be dissappointed. One gallon of concentrate makes 11 gallons of working solution (should last for a while even on your bus). I would also suggest glass cleaning microfibers from ADS and you will be all set!. The BEST combination I have found!!.

I agree, but I shouldn't have to pay his very fair shipping costs just to get what should be a readily available consumer line product at my local auto supply store. Doesn't anybody get this???

Bob, just go with the Invisible Glass Cleaner. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed. The guys on the Porsche forums use it over the botique brands.

By the way, if you get a gallon of concentrated glass cleaner, you can use the stuff at full strength as a tree sap remover. Buying a gallon size glass cleaner should give you some value of the shipping charges.

Thanks for that great verification! It's gotta be pretty decent stuff. That's exactly what I did in post #8. Meets my needs for sure.

Geezalou, with all this nice weather, we should all be out touring instead of sitting behind our computers talking glass cleaners...

Another great way is to take a small plastic container 1qt or bigger fill half way with hot water and add a little lemon joy dish liquid and mix.

Take a terrycloth wax applicator dip it in and ring it out.
Take 2 mirco fiber towels the 1st I call the wet one use it 1st than follow with the dry.

Streak free,very clean and very cheap.

Remember side to side on outside and up and down on inside or vise versa. This way you can tell which side has the smudge on it.

Now, that's a super idea. I would think that the applicator would really do a marvelous job of loosening any films which may have built up. I wonder if a new yellow foam applicator might also do a good job? Might be too tough on the dealer installed tint most likely. Anybody ever give this a shot?

I think you would get to much drag with foam, The pile of the terry helps cut and added with the lemon it works very well but the trick is the dry towel.

I for one was a dedicated IG user. Tried the d-line concentrate and was sold. IMO a much better product.

Now I understand tour problem with shipping costs. So I would go with the IG and definitely use the 2 towel method mentioned before. Good Luck, Bob.

Bob, nobody hates it more than us that NXT Glass Cleaner is so hard to find in local stores. We make so many products that in order for ANY store to stock them all, they'd have to stop carrying several other brands all together just to open up shelf space! And who carries what can tend to be fairly regional too. Unfortunately, we can not dictate to these stores what they can and can't carry.

Stoner's IG is a hugely popular product, and not just because it's relatively easy to find - it's just flat out good stuff. Period.

But as with any glass cleaner, what you use isn't always as important as how you use it. Consider this:

Take a terrycloth wax applicator dip it in and ring it out.
Take 2 mirco fiber towels the 1st I call the wet one use it 1st than follow with the dry.

So many people spray the glass cleaner on fairly heavy to cut through the heavy grime, bug guts, etc and end up giving a final wipe with a relatively wet towel. Almost any glass cleaner will streak when used this way, including Stoner's and SprayWay - personal experience proves it. But if you follow with a dry, or nearly dry, "buff" of the surface you'll eliminate the streaking. Sometimes just the finest mist of cleaner as a follow up, then wipe with a dry towel, is what's needed to remove streaking from the initial, heavier wipe.

Remember side to side on outside and up and down on inside or vise versa. This way you can tell which side has the smudge on it.

Oh, the frustration this eliminates!!

Thanks, Mike. I guess I was ragging on their distribution and merchandiser mix, but it's just that I'm so impressed with all the terrific Meguiar's products and I get a little frustrated that I can't just jump in my car, pick up some glass cleaner, and return back home within the hour.

When I was with the General Electric Lamp Division, all the sales reps would constantly monitor their account's product mix, and do their best to redefine the mix to more aggressively promote shelf space to their most popular consumer line products. At my local Discount Auto, they've got a 16 foot merchandiser and Meguiar's products only account for c. two feet of the shelf space. The big discounters are even worse; usually just a few liquid and a few paste NXT 2.0. Totally not your fault, but it may be something for corporate to consider, especially regarding the most popular consumer oriented products. Nobody expects to find some of the obscure Mirror Glaze professional products, but I think you're losing a lot of sales revenues by not attempting to get more retail product exposure.

Hey have you tried a NAPA Autoparts store? Go to napaonline.com and click find store near me and see if you have one near you. I recently checked out this place near my house and they have the biggest selection of megs products I have found! Just a warning though, the store is overpriced on a lot of the products, but with shipping and handling costs it might be cheaper still. Just thought I would let you know about this place because even if the product is more than it is online, you still have a store you can just go to and buy what your looking for. My store had a whole aisle of megs products from top to bottom! They had the usual consumer products that are easy to find but I was impressed with all the mirror glaze selection they had. They had the glazes, waxes, swirl remover, and car wash soap from the mirror glaze line. The next aisle over was even more megs products that I have only seen online. They had a small selection of megs boat supplies, as well as supreme shines (sold by themselves), the megs mf wash mitt, and many other things! Only thing they didn't have was the detailer line. Oh yea and they had your NXT glass cleaner your looking for as well as a bunch of other NXT line products that I haven't seen in stores before.I was quite impressed.
