I have a question for you.

    Is that a '68?

just use the polishing pad with DA approved compounds, cleaners, and polishes.

What condition are the cars you are working on?

      Generally, you would want to:

      1. Wash
      2. Clay
      3. Clean - If you are using the Consumer Line products, you would want to try SwirlX on a polishing pad on a test spot/panel. Then check results. If 2 passes of that wont do it, then you can consider Ultimate Compound with a polishing pad. You may need to follow up the UC with SwirlX.
      4. Wax - Nxt 2.0, etc with the finishing pad.

So basically, I would buy a few more polishing pads.

Stay away from wool pads with the G110 or any other D/A buffer - they are not compatible!

Otherwise, follow the advice set forth by Murr1525 - he knows what he's talking about.

But most definitely do yourself a favor and read through the following threads before you jump in:

Using the G-100 to Remove Swirls and Scratches

Recommended Products - G100a Dual Action Polisher

How to apply product to the face of your foam buffing pads

PC + 83 not "Cutting" it! (The Limits of Dual Action Polisher)

Tips & Techniques for using the G110, G100, G220 and the PC Dual Action Polisher

When you follow all the instructions and tips spelled out in the above, the odds of you doing any damage to your paint using a G110 is virtually nil. Really, the biggest danger is dropping the machine on the paint. Don't do that.

A few of the most common mistakes people make when getting started with the G110 are:

        1. Using too low speed to get the job done - run the machine at speed 5 for defect correction, 3 for wax application
        2. Moving the machine too quickly over the paint - slow arm speed is important to give the pad and liquid time to dwell over an area and properly work against it; fast sweeping motions accomplish nothing
        3. Not using enough pressure on the pad - keep the pad flat against the paint, but use enough pressure to deform the pad a bit, but not so much pressure as to stop the pad from spinning. Do this: apply enough pressure to stop the rotation, then back off until the pad starts to spin again - that is about the max pressure you should be using
        4. Working too large an area - keep your work area down to no more than 2' x 2'. A "small" area is NOT the hood of a full sized pickup truck, nor is the entire door of a Challenger, Camaro or Mustang. Keep your work area small.

That, and the above linked articles, should be more than enough to get you going.

Be prepared though - people around here are going to want to see pictures!

Just did a spare door to test my new items. Thats why im making this short cause i cant wait to do the whole truck. WORKS GREAT. used the polishing pad with ultimate compound. then used professional mirror glaze polish. and finished it off with NXT 2.0 results are in and they are great best thing i have bought in a while. removed scratches and swirls in the paint for a junk door it looks as good as new. will post pics next week when i do the 2 whole cars for a customer. Remind you this will be my first detailing job for a non family member or friend. Wish me luck

Water based dressing. It does not attract as much dirt and dust. Also dilutable so different amounts of shine can be produced.
Hyper dressing from the detailer line seems to be everbody's favorite.

Use meguiar's store finder. There may be a paint & body equipment store in your area that would have hyper dressing. Or order some off of autodetailingsolutions.net.

I will never, ever, use Simple Green near a car again.... It left all of my black plastic white and chalky looking.

And as mentioned in your other thread, you will have to either shop online, or look for a PBE store near you. There is a Dealer Locator on the home page, but be sure to call before you go.
