  • Storage Bag(for in your car)

I have an old shopping basket that I could possibly use, but I am concerned about stuff sloshing around in the trunk during transport. My products will be removed once I arrive at college. Just thinking for something that is nice caddy that I carry/move around easily. I have looked at the Stanley bags at Walmart, but you cannot close the top of the bag with a bottle inside. Tested with bottle of QD at store.

    Thanks

How would a soft tool bag like this work?

    Or maybe this for bottles?

Post a pic if you can or link of what you use.

    Thanks

I'm afraid to keep supplies in my car.
Someone might think the bag I full of valuables and yank out the lock cylinder or break a window. Also, I don't want the products getting too hot, then breaking or spoiling.
Not worth it. My paint is in terrible shape, anyway.

          Also here's one from Autogeek....

I have the Autogeek bag. It's ok, but it's smaller than I expected. I can barely fit a UQD bottle in one of the pouches. Not worth $50~ IMO.

I use one bought at HF for about $14. It has two large pockets on the long sides. One for the DA and pads and another for many of the chemicals. I like it as I can quickly grab the two bags and know I have everything I need.

No need to spend premium dollars on the bags. The ones from HF do just fine.

Yeah I was wondering what it looks like in person. I've been toying with the idea of getting one but will probably pass for the 50$$. I kinda do like the Stanley tool chest idea mentioned on the other thread. At lowes the 4 in 1 is 80$ and the other one is 20$.

Hmmmmm choices choices......But then again it depends on what the CFO (wife) will give me a purchase order for......LOL

Re: Storage Bag(for in your car)

I was able to find something around the house. My sister received a bottle caddy for horse grooming products that she never uses, so I used that instead. Do you think I should pack some clay?

                  Here is everything I packed:

                  • 2 5 gallon buckets
                  • 2 Grit Guards
                  • 1 Megs wash mitt
                  • 32 oz ONR
                  • Measuring Cup
                  • 1 16oz Quik Detailer
                  • 1 22oz Ultimate Quik Detailer
                  • 1 16 oz Quik Interior Detailer
                  • 1 16 oz Quik Wheel Detailer
                  • 1 Bottle Ultimate Quik Wax
                  • 1 Bottle NXT 2.0
                  • 1 Bottle Ultimate Compound
                  • 1 can Sprayway glass gleaner
                  • 1 Bottle M40
                  • 32 oz All Wheel Cleaner
                  • 1 can Turtle Wax tire shine for wheel wells
                  • 1 bottle Hot Shine tire gel
                  • 9 Foam applicators
                  • 2 tire gel applicators

I have the set up from Stanley. Surprisingly it holds a lot. The fact that it is on wheels should factor in your decision. In case you have a long way to go for your detailing at school.

I personally wouldn't want to put all my detailing things in the car. The money for those bags to me just isn't worth it. I'm assuming you don't have a cabinet in the garage?

But if I had to choose I would go for the stanley

Re: Storage Bag(for in your car)

I managed to luck into a 5 gallon bucket that was used from some amatuer wine making kit. Apparently they can only be used a handful of times before they're no longer food grade? Whatever... but it came with a tight fitting lid so I just keep everything in there. Might be too big for your car to sit upright, but I wouldn't spend very much on anything. Find some plastic bin with handles and go to town.

Also, if you had one of those soft tool bags I might be worried about what would happen if one of the bottles broke/spilled.

Thanks for the responses & suggestions, but I should have looked around the house some more because I found something that seems work well. See the pics I posted: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...54&postcount=9

I use this old Targus bag for those lengthy trips away from home. It expands to hold a surprising amount of stuff.

I just dont like the heat for stroing things in the car.

If all you need is transport, just a big rectangular Rubbermaid bin to stand everything upright in is likely fine.
