I also would recommend APC+, this can removed it very good. Also if you don't have APC+ and would like to try something that you could I would try Dawn (dish soap), I've used it and has done the job pretty good.

If I put loads of dish soap in a bottle, is that going to be an alright APC substitute? A gallon of Super Degreaser is 41 Euros in Germany ($52) and that's kind of expensive. Regular APC is only a few Euros cheaper.

Also: how stiff should a tire brush be? Maybe like a medium tooth brush? The Meguiar's tire brush is 20 Euros (25 dollars) and I would first like to see if cleaning the tires properly is actually going to help make the Endurance gel last through rains.

I don't have the "Purple Power" brand degreaser, but I bought some PartsMaster Purple Degreaser to remove transmission fluid off of the road. I'm guessing it will probably work in the same manner though. Now to try it on the car I suppose.

Getting back on track though, Purple Power is strong stuff and be careful on your wheels. Use gloves too!

I'll have to try the Super Degreaser for the tuff stuff. Haven't tried it yet.

I don't know if anyone here finds this. If I get a sponge and use Hot Shine on my tyres and rub,I find it takes brown markings off the tyre and onto the sponge. Then I go around the tyres with a new sponge. Very rarely,have I ever tried cleaning them. They turn out fine.

I like Hot Shine.

They also make it in a foaming spray that will clean & dress the tires without scrubbing / rubbing.

I don't use it either, used my last can and found that E1 is slightly better and more available at Schmucks in my area, but, I should make a road trip and see you someday anyways! Only 4 hours away breaking the speed laws here and there.....

Hit it with a high quality APC, and if you really want to get it cleaner, take a shop towel slightly soaked in Tarminator and wipe the tire with it. You'll be amazed at what will come off the tire.

I like Bleche White for REALLY Grimey tires, but be careful with it as I'm sure tons of people have already warned about it.

Another Good Combo is Super Degreaser 4:1 scrubbed, rinsed, followed by APC 4:1 with a foaming spray.

If that's the Eagle One All Wheel Tire Cleaner, then I concur, it's cheap, doesn't take much and foams pretty good (meaning product spreading is great) and melts any and all tire dressings I use.

It also melts away tar sling on the lower parts of your car, but it also melts away waxes as any wheel cleaner, so wax when done!

Yeah, just the older name for it.

The NXT Tire cleaner was great! Can't find it here in the states, I bought a bunch at a Big Lots but haven't seen it in over a year or two here in No. California or So. Oregon.....

If you ever drive down, let me know. Have a few cans of it. Never use it anymore due to the EO product.

I use NXT Gen Foam Tire Cleaner and Versa-Angle Tire brush to clean the tires. They do a really good job - I'm not planning to change this combo. And the key in applying tire dressings is not to use too much product - I always rub Endurance into the tire and then wipe off the excess. This leaves the tires looking natural and not sticky.
