Re: do we wax the wheel?

Some people do, but there is no formal wax Meguiar's makes for this purpose.

A lot of people just use whatever leftover wax they have, and most prefer paste waxes for wheels.

Just keep in mind that wheels are a harsh environment (heat, brake dust, harsh chemical cleaners etc), so the wax will need to be re-applied often.

In addition to what Mark said, you could also use a spray wax after waxing them. While it isn't true wax, it will help protect your wheels.

Remember to spray the wax on your towel first and then apply it to the wheel so you don't get wax in and on your brake components.

While doing a complete detail. I like to wax the wheels. Like Mark said, I use whatever I have left over. Currently I am using the original version of #21.

I use NXT to wax my wheels. It doesn't last too long (a month?), but it does seem to make it easier to clean off brake dust while it lasts.

Depends on the type of wheel. There are dedicated wheel waxes but I'm not sure how they are better if they are.

I use the same wax I use on paint to wax my wheels. Makes cleaning A LOT easier.

I like to use the Cleaner Wax that comes with the Smooth Surface Clay kit. Does an excellent job of removing contaminants in the pores and therefore considerably brightens the wheel.

Re: do we wax the wheel?

Because part of my wheels are painted, so I use wax on the wheels everytime I clean/wash the car. I also use UQD on the wheels for quick clean between wash.

I use Collinite 476 on my wheels. It's lasted 1.5 months so far. Water still beads and it feels slick.

For some reason 476 doesnt seem to keep water beading on my paint... but it feels slick
