Canadians: QD & UQD 25% off at Canadian Tire this week

Attention all Canadians,

I got my weekly Canadian Tire flyer this morning and there was an ad showing 25% off spray detailers and it had a picture of both QD and UQD along with a couple other competing products. Sale starts Friday, August 7th and goes until next Thursday, August 13th.

No, I don't work for Canadian Tire but thought the Canadians on the board would appreciate a heads up to save a few bucks.

I know it's a rare find when Megs products are on sale! For anyone in Southern Ontario, TSC hardware stores have 50% off their Meguiars products until the middle of September. I picked up GC wax for $10.

For those of you in the US we Canadians get pretty excited for sales since Megs products are almost twice as expensive up here!

TSC I'm pretty sure is Tractor Supply Company. They're a farming/yard equipment type store. I suppose farmers could use Meguiars to take care of their tractors. Anybody try throwing NXT on a lawnmower before?

GRR! Darn false advertising! The ad in the flyer clearly showed a picture of UQD and QD, so I assumed both were on sale. Nope, just the QD but I wanted the UQD. So rather than raise a big stink and be a PITA customer, I bit the bullet, bought the UQD at the regular price and then saved $4 off a 3 pack of microfibers. Here's a screenshot from their online flyer and you can clearly see there's UQD in the ad:

I dropped by a TSC store (Tractor Supply Company). They had ALL the Meguirs products 50% off. They don't have a large selection but it is a great price.

Went to Canadian Tire this Saturday, the UQD shelf was empty, so I decided to even things up and emptied the QD shelf.

Going back sometime this week to make sure the UQD shelf stays empty. I might even ask them to get me a full box of UQD before even unpacking it.

Yeah, that's weird. When I went on the weekend it only showed QD on sale and not UQD. Maybe a bunch of people complained and got the UQD on sale? Regular price for UQD is $14.99 at Canadian Tire.

Edit: On a side note, this was my first time trying UQD and I found it was rather difficult to apply. I shook the bottle, misted the product on and used a Microtex microfiber to spread the product around. I found it required quite a bit of elbow grease to move the towel across the surface. I posted my problems more detail here and here.

Just went to Canadian Tire in Brampton. UQD is 25% off. Regular price is $14.99 (CAN) and they are selling it for $11.24 CAN. Taxes added is $12.70 (CAN).

Not too bad, Walmart in Buffalo is selling UQD for $9.99 (US).

However, I remember Buffalo's Walmart sells GC Wash for $6 (US) while Canadian Tire sells it for $19.99 (CAN). Wow !!!

Still not sure why we have to pay so much more for detailing products than our American friends. I thought NAFTA took care of all that nonsense other than transportation. Anyway I was fortunate three weeks ago while visiting my daughter in Florida. I had her show me where all the Walmart, Autozone etc. etc. stores were in Palm Bay. Prices for detailing stuff were anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 cheaper than in Canada. I won't tell you how much I brought back because Canadian customs might pay me a visit, suffice to say, it was worth it.
