  • Streaking

How come when I dry the car, there's a lot of streaking? I have a re-painted hood and it's the worst part that streaks, probably because it wasn't painted right.

Today I'm going to do a full exterior detail and see if that does anything.

Streaking as in water left behind?

Or your wax starts smearing, or something else?

I thought this was going to be something exciting with a title like "Streaking"

Are you referring to when you dry, as you wipe your towel across and the water streak rather than get absorbed.

This happens a lot if you don't have a good coat of wax on your car. It can also be caused by the type of drying towel you are using. What are you using to dry? I like using Meguiar's Waster Magnet.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.

It's like the paint is not level and there's like nano "canyons" that hold the water while the towel goes over it.

Unfortunately I had to leave my detailing stuff in NY when I moved, otherwise the car would've got a nice buffing of 83 and then 80, waxed with my good bottle of NXT 2.0 and then UQD'd.

But I only have consumer line now and it appears every meguiars product I bought is a dud.
