  • Engine Bay Detailing Question?

I'm about to start detailing a 2001 Chevy Cavalier engine bay. I know I should cover the Alternator and Distributor, but is there anything else I should be concerned with?

I bought Gunk Engine Shine Orange Degreaser for a first application and I'll follow up with some Purple Power Engine Degreaser after the first rinse. It said in the instructions to cover up the carburetor but don't know if this is necessary or not. Also, is it necessary to cover the battery terminals???

Any help would be appreciated as I'm going to start in on this project asap.

    Thanks!

Spark plug caps, battery terminals, and leads for your car alarm (unless you don't mind having a wimpy alarm for the next week)

And if you are doing this in your driveway, place a drip pan or a large piece of cardboard under the front end of your car. Some of the stuff that gets washed away is pretty nasty and can stain your pavement.
