Is there any other product that compares to Hyper Dressing that I can get at a Autozone or Pep Boys? I want to use it on my engine detail. I'm not sure if any of this other stuff is flammable.

Supreme Shine Protectant, M40 Vinyl & Rubber Protectant.

Basically any interior shine/dressing protectant will work, but I recommend you purchase some Hyper Dressing and Gold Class Trim Detailer from

Hyperdressing is sold in the gallon and can be diluted to four different levels of gloss.

Supreme Shine Protectant is a good to use after the surface is cleaned/conditoned and has a higher gloss look.

If you want a water-based product to use on your engine bay, look for 303 Protectant, which is often available at marine supply stores. It is well regarded by many detailers. But HyperDressing is significantly more economical.

I am using CD-2 Engine Detailing dressing. I do not believe it is water-based, though. It may be oil-based, at least that is what the customer service person I yesterday when I called, but she honestly did not sound as if she knew what she was talking about. But just to be on the safe said, apply it to a cool engine. If it is oil-based, it does not appear to draw dust and dirt to it. CD-2 is available at AutoZone stores.

Stoner Trim Shine, available at some NAPA stores, may also be used on the engine bay; but it too is oll-based.

Ah, gotcha. That's why HyperDressing is a "pro" product vs the consumer Supreme Shine right? I sprayed some Hot Shine on my plastic covers on my engine is that OK?

Sorry to hijack but though my questions would be helpful....

Yes, its more economical and will last much longer until you have to purchase more.
