can tell me what are the best products and the steps and instructions on detailing a car. so far i've been just using a microfiber mit to wash the car with gold glass i dry with microfiber towels and then i wax with nxt can someone give me a in depth way to detail a car and what to use when to use it and how to use it

First you need to tell us:

(1) What kind of money you are willing to spend.
(2) What your goal is? Swirl-free? Show car shine?
(3) Do you intend to work by hand or machine?
(4) What type of car are you working on?
(5) What type of paint? Single-stage or clearcoat?
(6) What type of problems are you intending to correct?
(7) Are you limited to local vendors or open to ordering online?

im just willing to use some of the meguiars stuff off the counter none of the professional stuff. i want that show car shine but i wanna take all the swirl and scratch marks

Well, start of simple then.

1. Wash - Gold Class or Nxt soap, 2 buckets, quality towels/sponges.

2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit - Maybe buy an extra QD bottle as well.

3. Clean - You'll want to start off with SwirlX. Use a smooth foam applicator, and work it in with some passion into the surface. You'll want to do a test area/panel before doing the entire car, since it is always possible you may need a stonger product like Ultimate Compound.

4. Wax - 2 thin coats of Nxt 2.0 would be good.
