  • OPT Car Wax

I know it probably isn't a good idea to be promoting other brand names. But my girlfriend thought she would do something nice for me and buy my a cool eco-friendly wax and I don't want to make her feel bad buy letting dust collect on it. So, my question is...has anybody ever followed up their LSP with a coat of Optimum Car Wax or even possibly used it as a base coat?

Edit: Is it even possible to mix any of the Meg's products and OPT Wax?

    Re: OPT Car Wax

You are speaking of the spray wax, right?

Some people use that as their sole LSP/wax, but personally I treat spray waxes like that as more of a booster wax.

I would use that as a topper after car washes, but not as a replacement for your normal wax. I have used it over NXT 2.0 in the past with good results. In fact, I bought a gallon...and then a week later the new Ultimate Quik Wax came out. I haven't opened the gallon yet...heh.

If you like the OCW, you will love UQW. It's easier to work with and sheets water more effectively in my experience.

I use the Optimum Spray wax. I tend to use it on my lower end details. For my higher end details I use Swissvax waxes. For people that want a sealant I use Tech Wax 2.0.

I would try it.See if it's to your liking. If not,use it on other things.

I've got a lot of waxes that I never use on my car,but I use them on the outdoor window shutters, tool boxes, outdoor air con. unit and other painted surfaces.

So you can always find a use for these.

I use OPT Car Wax regularly! I really like the stuff. Only use it in the shade and when the surface of you vehicle is cool or it will streak like crazy! It looks great when you use it as a topper over a sealant.

guess thats another product i need to try...
so OCW can be used as a LSP ? unlike the UQW = maintanance after wash?

currently I use the UQW as a maintanance after every car wash i do :]...

                      Re: OPT Car Wax

Either can be used as an LSP. Like Mark stated, I only use them as a booster wax and not as a stand only LSP. This does not mean you can not use it that way I just prefer that.

Another thing to note is that Mark mentioned the UQW sheets watter more effectively, and I would take his word on that since I havent used it and Mark really knows his stuff

                        Re: OPT Car Wax

Opti-seal is my main LSP and as a booster, I use OCW. Never tried UQW(have 3/4 gallon of OCW to use up).

The Optimum QD is great, if you buff it in some and use it lightly. It's not as easy to use compared to any of the Meguiar's Quick Detailer products. It does have a great shine to it!

As far as Polishes and Compounds go, Love the Poli-Seal (AIO) and PolishII products. Now that we have the New 105 and 205, I'm not using the Optimum products as much.

Between Meguiar's and Optimum products, I'm good to go!
