Issue with my rims (pics)

Was cleaning my rims the other night and noticed these water spots that do not seem to go away. Have tried brasso metal polish, wax, and ultimate compound and nothing seems to get rid of them. Does it look like too strong of a wheel cleaner was used/left on too long?

Can you feel a grooving on them? they look textured?

yes they are textured. Not really textured but they have those "lines" in the aluminum...

Having that grooving is going to be hard to work a product down in them.

You could maybe at least slide some clay back and forth, that should mold into the grooves.

they look machined at least, are they clear coated? or non coated?

Test spotting included, my machined clear coated wheels looked similar to those and I used an Acid based Etching wheel cleaner (Eagle One) and they turned out great but like I said.....I did a test spot to make sure I didn't ruin them......

They look like bad water spots, weird that UC didn't clean it up.....

As Murr pointed out, because of the grooves it is going to be incredibly difficult to effectively polish those wheels.

Also, they look like wheels that would come with a clearcoating so you may not even want to polish them since you risk removing the clear coating.

The first thing I would do is contact the manufacturer and verify that. Once we verify what type of surface we are working with we can give more specific tips.
