I think Gucci products are cheaper in North America than they are in their home country, Italy!!

I always buy Levi jeans. I'm sure there are plenty of other jeans out there that are just as good, if not better, and perhaps cheaper. But I buy and wear Levi's. Period.

I have a question about the Optimum Poli-Seal, is that a good polishing product? My neighbour gave me an extra bottle that he had and after reading the subject here being a "cleaner wax".
I'm assuming I use this after a wash and clay, then follow it up with a wax?

Think of Poli-Seal more as a "All-In-One" type of product. It has a little bit of a cut to it, for cleaning and polishing. It also is a sealant, a pretty good one, might I add. In the Meguiar's line, D151 would compare to Poli-Seal.

A wash and a clay would be a great start for Poli-seal to do it's best for you. A wax wouldn't be needed, if you let the Poli-seal "set-up" after applying it.

Additionally, bear in mind that Al is only going to give us information on products that he has actually used which I find very responsible.
I can say that the best $100 wax is Zymol Glasur, but it's the only wax that I've ever used at that price point, so my opinion doesn't bear much weight as far as I'm concerned.
I have, however seen the results of various high-priced waxes at car shows, and I'm comfortable saying that Zymol Concours produces a better show shine than SwissVax BOS. Heck, I think that Midnight Sun gives better results than BOS, but that's just me. It could also be how they were applied by the preparer at the show.

Like Mike Phillips always said, find something you like and use it often, and your car will always look its best.
If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to record the event, how can you be certain that there was a tree or even a forest to begin with?

What do you mean by "set up"?
Let it sit there and then buff it off?

I thought after a polish you need a wax?

Al, I assume you have tried Souveran. Is it really all it's hyped up to be?

Next week I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a Boutique Wax specifically for my friend's NSX, and he says he only wants the "Best" stuff I have.

The best stuff for me is M21 and CG's 5050, but I do want to give that car an extra Pop as he's entering a car show soon and anything that increases his chance of winning will help.

Or maybe I should just go with Zymol Glasur... Hrmmmm decisions decisions

On non-brand dedicated forums, many users swear by them.

However, most people who use Souveran have custom paint jobs that have been wetsanded to perfection.

I find that many high-end waxes are limited by factory paint jobs which are infested with orange peel.

Zymol makes a wax specifically for Japanese paints if you buy into that kind of thing. It's called Japon, and retails for $49 at zymol.com. I haven't tried it, but I sure do love my Glasur.

Oh I agree. The thing is, his paint is already pretty immaculate. It's just that sometimes on his hood (which is carbon fiber color matched) or the sides of the car, we get these umm... "models" that don't respect nothing for nothing and puts paint marring and scratches on it.

It annoys me and he doesn't do anything about it. So he agreed that I can correct it for him but only if I use something "special" for him as an LSP.

                            Oh well, Souveran it is.

Yeah i'm not very keen on country or color specific wax.

But you're actually the person that has me interested in Glasur, quite simply because I think you're giving an honest opinion about it.

I've also read other people who's used Glasur and they compare it to Swissvax, supernatural, etc. and had great results.

That's why for about $100, it's either souveran or glasur.

But I'm going to go with Souveran for now. Glasur will be next on my list.

I need to have more "boutique" products because I'm going to be aiming for higher end details from people who want the best stuff possible. Even if it's only marginally better than something like M26 or what not, when they're going to be paying me $500 or more I want to make sure they're happy if you catch my drift.
