  • Application Question

I just went out an purchased NXT Tech Wax 2.0, Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, Clay Bar, and ultimate Quik Detailer. I have a 2007 Black Honda Element SC that has NEVER been waxed since I bought it in August of 2007. The paint looks good manily because I park in a praking garage durnig the day and it goes straight into my garage when I get home. And I need to know in which order do I apply these product and how. I have a High Speed buffer but I think I would rather do all of this by had unless there is a way to removed the swirl marks.

    Thank you,
    Jason

    Re: Application Question

    1. Wash - Wash with a good quality car wash, good quality sponges, towels, and two buckets.

    2. Clay - Use regular QD with this, not UQD.

    3. Clean - Do a test spot/panel with SwirlX, and check your results. If they are not up to par, then try the Ultimate Compound on the area. See which product works, get your technique down before doing the whole car. You may or may not need to follow up the UC with SwirLX. Come back and ask for help if needed.

    4. Polish - SwirLX is a cleaner/polish, so using a pure polish after would be optional.

    5. Wax - Nxt 2.0 is good.

    6. Wax -2 thin coats is best.

    7. Maintain - After future washes, using the UQD or UQW to bring back that fresh shine is always good.

Element, if you follow the steps Murr posted you will be very pleased with the results. Remember a test area is small. The big key to Murr's post is to get a process down that works for you and provides the results you want. Additionally, if this is a daily drive not all of the marrs, swirls and scratches will come out, but you should be able to get about 90% out. Good luck. Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you get stuck and pictures always help. Have fun.

        Re: Application Question

        Jason,

Just to clarify, by "high speed" do you mean a rotary buffer? If so, the products you mentioned are not recommended to be used with a high speed buffer. They work very well by hand and dual-action buffer, though.

I would recommend washing the vehicle, claying it, and then doing a test spot with SwirlX by hand. If that doesn't remove the defects to a level of satisfaction you are ok with, try a test spot with Ultimate Compound.

You MAY be able to do the car with Ultimate Compound and go straight to wax, but you may need to follow up with SwirlX for the ultimate gloss and defect-free finish. Use your test spots to determine the best regimen.

        Good luck!

          Thanks guys...

So what I understand is this.

          1. Wash

          2. SwirlX / Ultimate Compound Use the SwilrX and if that doesn't do enough use the Ultimate Compound... correct?

          3. NXT 2.0 Wax

and then maintain. Should I use the Ultimate Quik Detailer after I wax or just wait a couple of days for the maintaining process?

          Thanks again guys,

          Jason.

Mark -- Yes i was referring to a rotary buffer.

              Re: Application Question

The products you are going to use are not formulated to be applied using a Rotary Buffer.

It's correct, do a test spot using SwirlX and inspect, if that doesn't remove the defects than you can do another test spot with UC and inspect.

You can use UQD after you wax with no problem at all. And continue using it when you wash your vehicle.

Have you touched the paint? You may want and consider using a claybar since it's a 2007 and it's never been waxed. It could be beneficial to you

                Re: Application Question

Thanks for the help. I went over the paint with the back of my hand and it was like sand paper so I clay Bared the entire truck which made is SMOOTH I then went ahead and used UC on the HOOD only due to hard water spots from my windshield washer fluid jets and it removed it all and it looks better then it did the day I picked it up. The entire truck looks AWESOME!! I would have taken pics but I left it our side this afternoon and it rained.... kind of sucked but at least I got it done. Again thanks everyone for the advice it helped me out tremendously. I do how ever have one small question.... how do I remove wax before doing this again? Use dish washing deturgent? If so what kind?

                Thanks again,

                Jason

                  Re: Application Question

No need to remove wax before doing this again.

Just wash with your good quality soap, clay, and use a paint cleaner. Hopefully, you should just need SwirLX in the future.
