What to use on my wheels?

Hi all! Tomorrow I am finally going to get around to giving my "new-to-me" truck some of the TLC it deserves. It is in pretty good shape, but there are some swirls courtesy of the dealer that I want to take care of.

The question I have, though, is what to use on the wheels? I thought the wheels were chrome, but on closer inspection they are like a chrome-like plastic coating on a steel wheel. When I tap them with my finger nail it makes a definite plastic sound.

Here is a pic. It is a 2005 Silverado, and I would assume many Chevy and GMC trucks from that time period would have the same wheels.

I have detailed the exact same truck as you have and found that Chrome Wheel Cleaner or All Wheel Cleaner works well.

Sounds like they have a Clear Coat of paint on them
I would clean them really good and put 135 for preventive maintenance

That's nice a ride Mario! Is that the Spyder? Long time scince i've seen one of those.First time in white.Original color? Do you still see the little Lancia MonteCarlo's out your way?

If you dont know for sure, I wouldnt use anything stronger than the All Wheel Cleaner.

You might be best to ask some shops, other forums, so we can help you for sure.

No not a Spyder
The paint is trashed and not the original color
It's coming out of the shop in a few weeks if they rebuild the turbo correctly, I'm on my 6th turbo rebuild!
So after I get it back I'll be prepping it for paint, and I'm going with a nice red from House of kolors and painting it myself!

It's hard for me to remember the model(no offence intended).Is it Kamal Bi-turbo?I only see the later models nowadays,which,are also nice.Anyway,good luck with your project.It's nice in white all the same.
