you can let the car wet or you can dry it, it depends if the water will dry on the car... i would dry it, coz i don want water spot...

        Re: clay question

Some people will wash and dry their car, and then wipe their lube off after claying each panel. Personally, I wash the car, water blade most of the water off, clay the whole car, and then go back and re-wash it and then dry it. Some people see that as an extra step, but that's the way I've always done it, and I haven't had any problems doing it that way, so that's how I'll continue to do it. Seems to be more of a matter of personal preference. But to answer your question, I would make sure most or all of the water is off the car before you start claying. Hope this helps!

          Re: clay question

          Hello Everyone!
I have a 2OO8 Mustang Bullitt. I did clay her but I did not do a perfect job as I was running out of time. I was shock at the dirt and debris that came off. I have owned her since last JUNE.

Is it OK for the car to be clayed again and go through the steps.
          *I washed
          *dried
          *clay with Detailer for lubricant.
*wax to the hood and driver side.
          * the rest I had to just a quick Detail.
Sooooooo. Do I need to clay her again before continuing.

          Thank you for your help!

            Re: clay question

You can clay as often as needed. If the worst happens, your car could need clayed the next day.

Are you saying is it ok to just clay certain parts? You can, it is up to you.

Otherwise, not sure of your question?

Not sure that I understand your question but yes the Smooth Surface Clay Kit has a mild clay in it that won't haze (scratch) up the finish. The professional line's aggressive clay will haze the finish because it is made knowing that the car will undergo buffing after anyway.

                      Re: clay question

I will tell you that I clayed 4 cars in 6 days and my steps were as follows:
                      1. Wash & DRY
                      2. Clay w/ QD as lube, wiped off QD as I went through each section.
                      3. Meg's Wax Cleaner
                      4. Meg's NXT 2.0
                      5. Enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I used each of the above steps for 5 cars in the last 2 weeks and I had great results. Even on a 31 year old Dodge Aspen. Good luck.

Fixed it so there's no confusion. You use the blue clay(mild) the same way you would use the Smooth Surface Kit clay. Press the clay into a patty, spray some detail spray on the paint and patty. Proceed to claying. Then wipe up what's left once the panel has been clayed.

Nothing special, just make sure the panel has plenty of lube so you're not marring the finish.
