  • Get New Products or Stick w/ What I Know?

Currently I use the following for detailing my car:

    #83, 8006 Pad Speed 5

    #80, 8006 Pad Speed 5

NXT Gen Tech Wax (non 2.0), 9006 Pad Speed 3

I love the professional line products they have done a great job on my black Toyota Matrix. But the 83 is a ton of work. Any new products or items that anyone would recommend over the 83 or 80 or Tech Wax? Just curious because I like my setup, and I am not looking for easier cause I know it takes work and arm grease with my G100 to get the job done right.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For a mere $10 or so you can pick up a bottle of either SwirlX or Ultimate Compound at Wal-Mart or your local auto parts chain store. Either is a bit more aggressive than M83 and they make use of the same high tech (SMAT) abrasives technology found in M105 Ultra Cut Compound. Either has a longer buffing cycle than M83 without the dust potential M83 can present if the pads aren't cleaned regularly. Great stuff and certainly worthy of a tryout.

I agree. I have used both UC and the new 105. Both easy to use and for me have finished well enough to go straight to lsp

        Switch.

The new UC and SwirlX work phenomenal.

My M83 worked great, but that dust issue was killer. And the small cycling was a big pain when you really wanted to work one area over more than another, it dried so fast and became such an arm sore to remove.

So If I am reading correctly, I can replace and do the following:

M105 for my DA polisher, recommend speed 5 still or can go to speed 6?

And what would be an effective replacement for the M80 that is new for 2009 and works well with the DA?

I'm still having problems in deciding when to use SW-X vs. UC and find myself always going to UC. I feel it's the 'bigger hammer' mentality kicking in.
